Airlie House Wedding

We ran to the entrance because of the sirens. The tornado was on the ground and we had to get the bridal party and couple inside and safe. We all hid downstairs in the middle of the Airlie House with other guests while the weather moved through – waiting with baited breath to see if it would pass or hit and if the tent would still be outside when it was over.

The sirens ended but the storm kept raging. We moved our small bridal group to the bar and watched the storm through the wide windows. Ian and Amanda had been married upstairs just a few minutes before and he kept his new wife calm with sweet words and bad jokes. Their joy from their recent nuptials kept a buzz amongst the group that was more lively and loving than panicked and worried. It felt as though no matter what the storm brought, this day had already accomplished that it was meant to.

The storm did ease and the tent was still there. With clearing skies we had a chance to finish up our bridal portraits in the wet gardens (Amanda, you were so gracious about your dress even though it was so wet! We love how much you trusted us and pictures are proof it was worth it!).

Amanda your sweet, pure heart stole us the second we met you. Ian, your love for Amanda and jovial, protective nature are endearing and you are the only couple who could have taken a tornado warning and by the end of the night made your guests forget it ever happened! Congratulations!
