She had changed into a silky pink dress and grabbed the mic. She warmed up with the pianist from the jazz band, and when she was ready, she called her new husband onto the dance floor. He had once told her that he wished someone would sing Someone to Hold to him, and having found his one, she was ready to grant him his wish. She sat him down and accompanied by the piano, sax and bass, serenaded her love on their wedding day as their guests surrounded them, tears in their eyes.

This is the kind of love these two share. But it was a love that was shared throughout all of their family and guests. The Maid of Honor sang an Irish blessing to the newlyweds during her toast, her daughter walked her down the aisle, and the Bride herself graciously thanked those who were there for their contributions in making her and her now husband the people they are now – so they could be those people for each other.

While this was the worst weather I’ve ever encountered on a wedding day (yes, worse than the tornado wedding), this wedding is one of the dearest to my heart. I’m so honored, thankful and loved (as in, I feel loved) to have been part of this day. Pam and Hubby, you are such a loving, welcoming, generous couple, and I can’t wait to bear witness to your marriage and how Christ focused your lives are. Love you both.
